Sunday Services
We can’t meet in person, but we can meet in spirit.
And until further notice, that is just what we will do.
There was something special about our first online gathering on Sunday, March 15th; something special for sure. God’s presence was felt as we gathered in Spirit, as one church, in countless locations. We felt united. We felt connected. We felt together. Perhaps not as much as we wanted, but by God’s grace, so much more than it could have been. We prayed. We sang. The Bible was preached. We received communion together. We connected our giving back to God. We sang some more songs, like the rich hymn “In Christ Alone”. In some living rooms it was sung in four part harmonies and around some kitchen tables belted off-key to the glory of God honoring. Whatever it sounds like we are sure God loved it all. We sang lines like, “No power of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck us from his hand. ‘Till He returns, or calls me home, here in the power of Christ I stand.” Powerful.
No doubt, church at home is different. We get that. Technology might not be your forte.
Don’t worry, we have some technology tips for doing church at home.
Kids might not be in sync with the service order. It’s all good. :) We hope to give you some tips and tricks to help your kids engage in the Online Sunday Service. Some weeks are going to feel amazing. Some, not so much. Real life with God is better than a staged experience anyway.
As far as we know, Sunday, March 15th, was our biggest gathering ever as a church. We heard stories of Redeemer “alumni” tuning in from other states. Some of our beloved Church Planting and Missionary Teams were able to join in from overseas. Before the 10:00 AM service began, we had our largest prayer gathering in the history of our church.
God sure seems to be up to something, and we are caught up in the midst of it. No doubt, the confusion, uncertainty, fear and anxiety are real. We do not take that lightly. May God teach us to care for each other so well during this time—to meet each other in the midst and to point to a trustworthy and powerful Abba Father who is in heaven.
Meeting together feels more important than ever. We will continue to gather for prayer at 9:30 AM and service at 10:00 AM. In order to use this season well, we encourage you to make Sundays really important. You need it. We all need it.
